Daily Reading Practice for Kids Who Learn Differently: Introducing Sprout's Reading World

1 in 5 kids has a learning difference that makes reading difficult. For those families, the days between weekly sessions with a reading specialist are where progress tends to stall. That daily repetition is exactly what a child needs to make real progress.

We've spent years working alongside these families, through our reading specialists, our resources, and the thousands of kids who've used a Sprout program. The same thing kept coming up: parents needed something that could show up every day. So we built it. Today we're launching Sprout's Reading World, a daily reading program for kids ages 8-10 who learn differently.

What It Does

The Sprout's Reading World program runs as a standalone program or alongside an SLP, reading specialist, or tutor. Every session follows explicit, sequential Orton-Gillingham instruction, the same structured-literacy method reading specialists use, and adapts in real time to where a child is that day. Sessions run 10 to 20 minutes and are built for daily use, so the skills a child works on get reinforced before they lose that progress. It fills the high-dosage, between-session instruction gap that no clinic schedule can fit in.

Three things make it work:

1. It fits into every day. Short daily sessions match how kids with dyslexia and ADHD have energy to learn, which is rarely a long evening block after a full day at school.

2. It delivers real expert instruction. Sprout's voice AI is trained on 2,000 hours of real specialist tutoring sessions. It listens for how kids sound when they sound out words and responds in the moment based on accuracy.

3. Kids want to use it. A robot companion named Sprout grows as the child progresses, and the games and encouragement keep kids coming back on their own. In early testing, kids chose to log in 5 days a week, even when we only suggested 3 to 4.

What Families Are Saying

"In just three weeks, my son has made real reading progress, and he actually looks forward to it every day. I didn't expect a program to move this fast or for him to love it this much." — Leila A., mom of an 8-year-old
"My daughter looks forward to it and keeps coming back. Whether your child is just starting to read or already reading, this app makes them better. I'd recommend it to any parent." — Maribel V., mom of a 3rd grader
"I really like Sprout's Reading World. It has a lot of encouragement for kids. I really like that part of it. Compared to the other games that she used to play, I think it's more detailed around the child. I'm really impressed with the game." — Kelly L., mom of a 3rd grader
"Sprout teaches me how to read and say words, and read fun passages. I love Sprout, and the games and prizes make it really fun. I did it every night." — Angelica V., 3rd grader
"If you're looking to help yourself read, it's a good game. It's very fun. It'll make you smile!" — Lola L., 3rd grader

What Practitioners Are Saying

"I'm packed this summer with kids struggling to read. I refer families to Sprout because it is exactly the kind of thing I want in their corner between sessions: consistent, structured practice they can actually do at home." — Susan N., Speech-Language Pathologist
